Aasvoël lives in Paarl and is a wellknown fancier in the Western Cape. He is having an excellent season and is currently leading the Boland Duiwe Unie championship points (he has 366 points and the fancier in second place has 202 points).
This past Saturday he won 1, 2 and 6 from Beaufort West in the WCPTA Sprint Series against 527 pigeons. In the union race from Three Sisters he won 1st club and 8th union with BDU D19 859, bred by Bertus out of “25” and MESKI (Bliksem 34 x Bonte Bliksem). “25” is a son of one of the best breeding pairs Bertus ever owned, WITTENBUIK 790 & LITTLE BLUE.
The WCPTA Short Distance competition ended on Saturday and Aasvoël finished 3rd. He best results so far this season in the WCPTA (one of the largest organisations in South Africa) were:
7,8,9,10 from Laingsburg 207km 4554 pigeons
8,9 from Beaufort West 370km 4257 pigeons
