Chappie is having a very good 2017 season. He has won 8 races to date and is leading the club championship averages in the Tuinroete Federation and is one point behind the leader in the club championship of the Suid Kaap Duiwe Unie.
So far Chappie’s best breeding pair is ZA 15/22665 and ZA 14/00397. Both birds were bred by Bertus. 22665 is a son of super breeders KROMME x MARIEKE JUNIOR. In the pedigree of 00397 are some of the best pigeons Bertus ever owned like JONGE CONDOR, MOOIE BLIKSEM, SON BLIKSEM, HALF PINT, GOLDEN EYE, WITTENBUIK 370 and WITPEN WITTENBUIK SA. Three children of 22665 and 00387, ZA 16/104, ZA 16/134 and ZA 17/264, have all won 1st prizes in 2017 and another one ZA 16/133 has also done well so far with 5th and 7th club.
22665 is a full brother of Allie Kotze’s 22661 and 22664. These two sons of KROMME x MARIEKE JUNIOR have both bred 1st prize winners for Allie. 22664’s daughter NBHD 15/5417 also won 1st Combine 795km 1170mpm against 2481 pigeons.
Another good breeder for Chappie is ZA 14/00536, also bred by Bertus. Her father is 00311 (WITTENBUIK 790 x LITTLE BLUE) and her mother ZA 14/00369 (SON BLIKSEM x BONTE BLIKSEM). 00536 won a Federation race in 2015 for Deon du Toit and her nestmate sister 00535, also raced by Deon, is an equal 2 x 1st Fed winner. 00535 was the 2nd best bird in the club and 3rd best pigeon in the Federation. 00536 clicks with a BIRDY cock.
