Dirk and Rico is a father and son partnership from Worcester. This past Saturday they won the Worcester Federation in a very tough race from Leeu Gamka by 1 minute 6 seconds with NBS D20 3793.
Both parents of 3793 are pigeons Dirk obtained from Bertus. Her father is 180028 (2373 Gavin Rous x 29296 daughter KROMME) and her mother is 20234 (Spike x 156509 daughter BLIKSEM 57).
Last year Dirk and Rico (with their partner in one loft racing Paul de Wet) won 1st in the final race from Ladybrand 545km at the Eastern Cape National Loft (Despatch) with NBD 19 2035. It was a very tough race (20km/h headwind and 30 Degrees Celsius) with a winning velocity of 1047mpm. It was a well deserved win because their winner was also the 1st ace pigeon.
